I'm finally here!

It is three P.M. on a hot summer's day. I am sitting in Claudio's house. Of the flights, they were tolerable. The cross the pond hop was less so, I didn't sleep well, but I was fed and watered sufficiently, so there's that. I actually got a little wedge of swiss cheese with my meal, and at first I wondered what I was to spread it on, before remembering the cracker's I'd already crumbled up into my salad. Ah well.

Claudio's hometown of Brugg is just a short drive from Zurich. I was doing my best to catch up and not fall asleep, since I was running on about 6 hours sleep from the past three nights. We got to his house, which is wonderful, totally European. We then went to lunch, Burger King. The food was basically the same as in America, but my meal cost me the equivalent of twelve dollars. Then we went shopping, Swiss groceries are very much like our own, but with more chocolate.

The coolest part of today was definitely walking around the older part of town, which was around 800 years old. We saw the old salt house, and the bridge built by the Romans, and the tower built to guard the bridge. Also, we drove over to the Amphitheater, also built by the Romans, and recently uncovered.

I have pictures of many of these things, mostly thanks to Claudio since I didn't think to unpack my camera. You'll have to wait though, for I am so very tired. I think I need a nap.
